Frequently Asked Questions

Permits, quotes, timelines and emergencies — the questions we hear most.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Lionex Electrical is a Licensed Electrical Contractor registered with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA/ECRA), fully insured, and all work is performed by licensed electricians and registered apprentices.

Do you pull ESA permits?

Always, when the work requires it. We file the ESA notification, coordinate the inspection, and you receive the Certificate of Acceptance — important for insurance and resale.

How do quotes work?

Send us a quote request online or call us. For most residential work we can quote from photos and a description; larger projects get a free on-site assessment. Quotes are written, itemized, and honoured.

Do you offer emergency service?

Yes — 24/7 for genuine emergencies like burning smells, sparking, or total power loss. Call us directly rather than using the form for emergencies.

How much does a panel upgrade cost?

Most 100A→200A upgrades fall within a predictable range depending on panel location, service type (overhead/underground) and utility requirements. Request a quote and we’ll give you a firm number.

Can you fix knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring for insurance?

Yes. We remediate or replace both, and provide the documentation your insurer needs. Many clients come to us mid-transaction — we can usually accommodate closing timelines.

Do you work with builders and general contractors?

A large share of our work is with builders, GCs and designers on custom homes, renovations and commercial fit-outs. We quote from drawings and hold our schedules.

What areas do you serve?

Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area — see our Service Areas page for the full list. For larger projects we travel beyond the GTA.

Still have a question?
